If you want to play the harmonica like the best, it pays to learn from the best. Johnny Mars will be delivering one of his excellent harmonica workshops at Sidmouth Blues Festival on 25^th May.

Join Johnny for an hour of handy tuition in the basics of the blues harmonica. You will be given expert and friendly instruction in the following vital techniques from a master;

• Making clear single notes via pucker or tongue-block method
• Chords
• Octaves
• Pops
• Vibrato
• Bends
• Scale of C
• Runs and riffs

This workshop will suit beginners to more advanced players who wish to enjoy Johnny’s methods and style.

About your tutor

Johnny Mars is a world class harmonica player who has billed and performed with Jimi Hendrix (Greenwich Village 1964), BB King (Hammersmith Odeon, London 1980s), Magic Sam (US circuit 1968), Earl Hooker (US circuit 1968), Bananarama (UK 1990s), Right Said Fred (UK 1990s), Michael Roache (UK 2010s) and Joss Stone (2010s).

Johnny has been teaching harmonica in UK schools for 31 years and has shaped over 350 new players, including his workshop partner, Ben Milverton.
